The aim of wastewater sampling is to use the samples in the laboratory to determine exactly which constituents can be found in the wastewater. The exact composition is unknown at the time of sampling.
Due to organic decomposition processes, wastewater creats explosive gases such as methane or hydrogen sulphide. In addition, there are also other flammable liquids that can get into the wastewater.
Therefore, sewers and adjacent enclosed structures at treatment plants are classified as hazardous explosive areas.
With NEMO, safety is not optional, so all NEMO systems are certified according to ATEX/IECEX standards. The complete devices (transmitters, samplers, sensors, modems, interfaces, cooling systems...) are designed to be safely used and operated in such an environment.
